Capture Clear Audio with AnalogX Capture: A Quick Guide
What AnalogX Capture is
AnalogX Capture (v2.02) is a lightweight Windows utility that captures screenshots (BMP) of your entire desktop or the active window and saves them to a file or clipboard. It runs from the system tray and can be triggered by left-clicking the tray icon or by a hotkey.
Key features
- Capture full desktop or active application window
- Save captures to BMP files or clipboard (or both)
- Automatic filename or prompt for filename after each capture
- Specify output directory
- Hotkey support and quick-capture menu for active/desktop capture
- Very small, runs from system tray; compatible with older Windows (originally Win95–Win7)
Quick setup (presumptive defaults)
- Download and run Capture (v2.02) from the AnalogX site.
- Let the camera icon appear in the system tray.
- Right-click the tray icon → choose options: set output directory, file naming mode, capture target (desktop or active window), and clipboard/file behavior.
- Optional: set a Hotkey for fast captures.
- Left-click the tray icon (or use Hotkey) to capture; BMPs are saved to the chosen folder.
Troubleshooting & tips
- If captures fail on modern Windows, run the app in Compatibility Mode (right-click exe → Properties → Compatibility → choose Windows 7).
- Use the clipboard option to paste directly into an editor if you want PNG or other formats—paste into Paint and save/export.
- For frequent use convert BMPs to PNG/JPEG in-batch with an image tool to save space.
